This sculpture is an extension of my piece Sangre Verdea tribute to the lost children, the small souls forgotten, and the historical control over women’s bodies. Children are the center of Caribbean and Puerto Rican families. We celebrate every milestone, from before birth to long after death. Childhood is not just a stage, but a cycle that we carry, pass on, and return to.

Airbrushed with red and blue underglazes and a crackle white glaze, this piece is a visual representation of the colors of La Bandera, with the crackle effect depicting a broken landscape and numerous cracks in the foundation. A child-like figure appears across mountain scapes, in search of the guaraguao to guide the lost children home.
